Open Up Group Reports Increase in Engineer Headcount and Utilization Rates

TOKYO, Jul 24 (Pulse News Wire) – Open Up Group Inc. (2154.T) reported an increase in total engineer headcount and utilization rates for June 2026.

As of the end of June, the company had 25,189 engineers, marking a rise of 65 employees compared to May. The overall utilization rate improved by 0.3 percentage points to reach 93.7%. Compared to the same month last year, the headcount decreased by 51 employees while the utilization rate increased by 0.2 percentage points. Breaking down the figures further, the number of electrical/mechanical and IT engineers stood at 15,819 and 9,494 respectively, with a combined total of 15,819 + 9,494 = 6,325.

The utilization rate for these categories was 94.8% for electrical/mechanical engineers and 96.3% for IT engineers, showing improvements of 0.3 and 0.9 percentage points respectively compared to the previous year. For construction engineers, the headcount rose to 8,596 in June, up by 53 employees from May. However, the utilization rate declined slightly by 1.2 percentage points year-over-year to stand at 91.6%. The company plans to publish these statistics monthly on its website, typically on the fourth Friday of each month.
