Oncolys Biopharma Seeks Approval for Telomerace™ in Esophageal Cancer Treatment

TOKYO, Aug 05 (Pulse News Wire) – Oncolys BioPharma Inc. (4588.T) announced that the Central Social Insurance Medical Council (Chuoi-Ikaikai) will review the price proposal for Telomerace™ (development code: OBP-301) on August 05.

The drug was approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for treating esophageal cancer unresponsive to curative surgery or chemoradiotherapy on June 08, 2026. The impact of this approval on the company's fiscal year ending December 2026 remains under assessment.

However, Oncolys BioPharma plans to launch sales of Telomerace™ as scheduled during the same fiscal period. Telomerace™ is designed to address a significant unmet medical need in advanced-stage esophageal cancer treatment options.

The company expects the drug to contribute positively to patient care once the pricing review is completed and the product is commercially available.
