Birdman Acquires System Battery Equipment for Grid Stability

TOKYO, Aug 06 (Pulse News Wire) – Birdman Inc. (7063.T) announced that it has decided to acquire system battery equipment, which includes land rights and grid connection rights, through a resolution made at a board meeting held on August 06, 2026.

The acquisition aims to expand the company's operations and diversify revenue sources while ensuring stable income across multiple power markets. The acquired equipment, located in Shizuoka Prefecture’s Hamamatsu City, consists of a battery system manufactured by Huawei (model LUNA2000-2.0MWH-2H1) and a power conditioner (model LUNA2000-100KTL-NHH1). The AC capacity is set at 1,960 kW, and DC capacity stands at 8,128 kWh. The total cost of the asset exceeds 300% of the company's consolidated net assets as of the fiscal year ended June 2025. Key milestones for the acquisition include signing the purchase agreement on August 06, 2026, with the effective date scheduled for August 17, 2026.

Payments for materials, construction fees, and land costs are planned for April 2027, October 2027, and April 2028, respectively. The delivery of the equipment is expected in April 2028, followed by approximately one month of installation work, with operations anticipated to commence in May 2028. Regarding future prospects, Birdman expects minimal contribution to sales in the current fiscal year ending June 2027. However, once connected to the grid and tested, the facility will transition to primary regulation services, forming the backbone of the company's revenue base. Moving forward, the company will evaluate various exit strategies based on market conditions, including potential resale options.
