Birdman Acquires System Battery Equipment for Grid Stability

TOKYO, Aug 06 (Pulse News Wire) – Birdman Inc. (7063.T) resolved at today’s board meeting to acquire system battery equipment, which includes land and grid connection rights, aimed at enhancing supply-demand adjustment capabilities and grid stability.

The acquisition, valued at more than 300% of the company's consolidated net assets as of the fiscal year ended June 2025, consists of a power plant site, grid connection rights, construction costs, and battery systems. Located in Saga Prefecture, the facility features AC capacity of 1959.9 kW and DC capacity of 8,128 kWh, manufactured by Huawei. The equipment is expected to contribute stable revenue through multiple electricity markets such as wholesale power trading, demand-response, and capacity markets. The transaction was finalized on August 06, 2026, with payments scheduled throughout 2027 and 2028.

Operation is set to begin in December 2028. In the near term, the impact on earnings for the fiscal year ending June 2027 is anticipated to be minor. However, Birdman plans to leverage the asset primarily within the primary control market post-commissioning tests. Future changes in market dynamics could lead to alternative strategies, including potential sales of the asset.
