Abc-Mart Reports July Sales Growth Amid Summer Heatwave

TOKYO, Aug 04 (Pulse News Wire) – Abc-mart,inc. (2670.T) reported strong sales growth in July due to increased demand for summer merchandise and the onset of summer sales events.

Revenue rose 6.7%, driven by higher customer spending per transaction, which grew 7.4%. However, store traffic declined slightly by 0.7%. Sales trends showed mixed results across months. From March to July, revenue increased sequentially but dipped in June.

Despite the closure of 15 stores affected by the July 28 earthquake in Kumamoto, overall performance remained robust. Seven stores remain closed without reopening plans. In July, the company opened three new stores while closing one. Additional August sales data will be released on September 2nd.
