Abc-Mart Reports May Sales Growth Amid Strong Summer Item Demand

TOKYO, Jun 02 (Pulse News Wire) – Abc-mart,inc. (2670.T) reported strong sales growth in May, driven by robust demand for summer items such as sandals and T-shirts.

The company noted that May had more Sundays and holidays compared to the same period last year, contributing to favorable sales trends in urban street stores and commercial facilities. For the month, overall store sales increased by 8.8%, while existing store sales rose by 8.8%.

In the first quarter, total store sales grew by 7.3% compared to the previous year, and existing store sales improved by 6.5%. Additionally, ABC-Mart opened one new store but closed two others during May, resulting in a net decrease of 1,115 stores.
