Yamaha Reports Strong First Quarter Revenue, Adjusts Full-Year Outlook

– Yamaha Corporation (7951.T) reported robust revenue growth for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, with sales reaching ¥116.3 billion compared to ¥103.9 billion in the same period last year. Operating profit surged to 97.8% million yen from -49.2% million yen, while net profit increased significantly to ¥14.78 billion from ¥3.788 billion.

The company also adjusted its full-year outlook due to improved performance expectations. Sales are now forecast at ¥490.0 billion, up from previous estimates. Basic earnings per share are expected to reach 23.3% yen, reflecting strong operational improvements.

Regarding cash flow, operating activities generated ¥16.26 billion in cash inflow, compared to ¥5.092 billion in the prior year. Investment activities saw expenditures of -¥5.908 billion, primarily related to asset acquisitions, while financing activities resulted in outflows of -¥394 million, mainly due to debt repayments and dividend payments. Additionally, Yamaha disclosed receiving a class action lawsuit notice from consumers alleging anticompetitive pricing behavior during a product distribution period from 2013 to 2017.

However, the company did not record any provisions for potential liabilities as the case's impact remains uncertain.
