World Reports July Sales Growth Amid Summer Boost
TOKYO, Aug 05 (Pulse News Wire) – World CO.,LTD. (3612.T) reported a 107.7% increase in domestic retail sales for July compared to the same month last year.
Store sales grew by 110.5%, while existing store sales rose by 96.6%. The company also noted a 96.8% growth in e-commerce sales. Sales momentum was driven by strong summer merchandise demand, particularly functional clothing and seasonal goods. Despite challenges posed by lower-than-usual temperatures earlier in the month, the latter half saw robust performance due to favorable weather conditions and strategic marketing efforts. Items such as cooling fabrics, quick-drying materials, and set-up ready blouses and pants performed well. Lifestyle brands like Ragtag, Hiros, and 212 Kitchen also contributed positively to overall sales.
In July, 30 stores were affected by partial closures due to the Kumamoto earthquake but are now working towards recovery and reopening. Existing store sales figures exclude these impacted locations. Separate data shows that during the fiscal year ending February 2026, domestic retail sales increased by 101.1% year-over-year, with store sales up 102.3% and existing store sales rising by 97.8%. E-commerce sales grew by 97%. World CO.,LTD. continues to focus on expanding its retail footprint through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions, adding 51 new stores and completing 30 mergers and acquisitions since March 2026.
