Tsukuba Bank Reports First Quarter Loss on Securities Portfolio
TOKYO, Jul 30 (Pulse News Wire) – Tsukuba Bank,ltd. (8338.T) reported a securities portfolio unrealized loss totaling ¥2.402 billion for the first quarter ending June 30, 2027.
This figure represents the total unrealized losses on bonds held-to-maturity within the bank's securities portfolio. In comparison, the bank’s consolidated ordinary profit for the fiscal year ended March 2026 was ¥7.457 billion. The ratio of unrealized losses to ordinary profit is calculated as (32.2%). Additionally, the parent company shareholders' net income for the same period was ¥6.670 billion, resulting in an unrealized loss ratio relative to net income of (36.0%).
According to the bank, the unrealized losses do not affect the forecasted performance or dividend expectations for the fiscal year ending March 2027. However, the bank noted that actual results could differ due to various factors. The bank also disclosed that the book value of the targeted securities portfolio stood at ¥41.95 billion, while their fair value was assessed at ¥39.56 billion. Furthermore, the securities portfolio showed gains amounting to ¥5 million and a net gain-loss position of -¥2.396 billion for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027.
