Toyota Motor Continues Executive Equity Plan and Introduces New Talent Program
TOKYO, Aug 04 (Pulse News Wire) – Toyota Motor Corporation (7203.NG) announced the continuation of its executive equity plan (ESOP Trust) and the introduction of a new talent program aimed at fostering innovation during the automotive industry's transformative period. The company expects these initiatives to contribute to long-term enterprise value enhancement.
Under the existing executive equity plan, eligible executives will continue to receive stock grants based on performance metrics. Additionally, a new program targeting specific talents meeting certain criteria will be implemented. Both programs aim to align employee incentives with the company’s strategic goals and accelerate future challenges. To support these plans, Toyota will extend the trust period until August 31, 2029, and allocate additional funds to the ESOP Trust. The trust will acquire Toyota shares through self-share repurchase, with dividends distributed similarly to regular shareholders.
Upon completion of the trust term, remaining shares will either be transferred back to Toyota free of charge or donated to unrelated organizations if the trust concludes early. The ESOP Trust was established on August 25, 2025, and operates until August 31, 2026, with an extension planned to August 31, 2029. Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Ltd. serve as co-trustees, while an independent third party acts as the trustee manager.
