Toyota Motor Reports First Quarter Revenue of 135.254 Billion Amid Mixed Performance

– Toyota Motor Corporation (7203.NG) reported mixed results for the first quarter ending June 30, 2026, with revenue reaching ¥135.254 billion but operating profit declining to ¥1 trillion. Despite a ¥1.7 thousand-unit drop in global sales, domestic sales increased by 43 thousand units compared to the same period last year.

Operating income was negatively impacted by higher general expenses and unfavorable foreign exchange rates, offset somewhat by cost improvements and pricing strategies. In detail, automotive operations saw a revenue increase of ¥135.254 billion, yet operating profits fell due to rising operational costs. Financial services contributed positively, recording a ¥14.006 billion operating profit driven by increased lending activity.

Other segments also showed growth, contributing to overall profitability. Looking ahead, Toyota expects continued challenges in managing costs and navigating volatile markets while maintaining focus on innovation and sustainable practices. The company plans to hold an earnings briefing to discuss these developments further.
