TOEI Animation OUTLINES MAJOR SHAREHOLDER STRUCTURE
TOKYO, Jun 29 (Pulse News Wire) – Toei Animation CO.,LTD. (4816.T) outlined its major shareholder structure as of March 31, 2026.
The company's largest shareholder, Toei Corporation, owns 40.9% of voting rights through direct holdings of 34.3% and indirect holdings of 6.6%. Additionally, another related party, Television Asahi Holdings, holds 20% of voting rights. Toei Corporation, founded in 1956, established Toei Animation to enter the animation industry and remains its primary shareholder. The company also noted that Television Asahi Holdings operates without significant constraints due to its affiliation within the corporate group, benefiting from substantial synergy effects.
In terms of management independence, Toei Animation maintains clear business delineation within the corporate group, allowing for independent decision-making. Five directors hold concurrent positions across affiliated companies, ensuring diverse expertise and oversight. Notably, three outside directors and two outside auditors participate in key decisions, safeguarding the company’s operational autonomy. Regarding transactions with related parties from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, Toei Animation reported sales of domestic broadcasting rights amounting to ¥588 million and purchases totaling ¥516 million.
Transactions included film production, distribution, and funding arrangements, adhering to fair conditions similar to those with independent third parties.
