Sankyo Acquires Data-Art’s Gaming Machine Development Business
TOKYO, Jul 15 (Pulse News Wire) – Sankyo CO.,LTD. (6417.T) announced today that its subsidiary, San Art Corporation, has entered into an agreement to acquire the gaming machine development business from Data-Art Corporation.
The acquisition includes the planning and production of performance control software and video content, as well as the design and development of gaming machine parts. The transaction, valued at 19.3 billion yen, will be settled in cash. Sankyo established San Art earlier this year to strengthen its development capabilities in the area of visual expression for gaming machines. By acquiring Data-Art's expertise and personnel—currently numbering more than 100—the company aims to enhance its internal development capacity and improve competitiveness within the group.
Data-Art, headquartered in Shibuya Property Tower, specializes in amusement equipment-related product development. Founded in 1984, the company had revenues of ¥8.942 billion and operating profit of ¥583 million for the fiscal year ended May 2025. As of the same period, its net assets stood at ¥10.22 billion and total assets amounted to ¥14.06 billion. The acquisition is expected to close on July 31, 2026.
Sankyo anticipates that the impact on its consolidated financial results will be minor but will promptly disclose any significant developments related to the transaction.
