Powerx Announces Mega Power Series for Large-Scale Battery Storage Systems
TOKYO, Aug 03 (Pulse News Wire) – Powerx, inc. (485A.T) unveiled two models of high-capacity battery storage systems, the “Mega Power” series, designed for large-scale grid energy storage facilities.
Scheduled for mass production beginning May 2027, the systems offer capacities of 4.6 MWh and 4.2 MWh within a 20-foot container. The company positions these as global strategic models aimed at expanding into markets such as Australia and Southeast Asia. Key features of the Mega Power series include higher density packaging, enabling up to 1.7 times more capacity per container compared to previous models. Additionally, the design allows for stacking two containers vertically, achieving up to 3.4 times the capacity per square meter. The system supports multiple battery cell suppliers, enhancing supply stability and cost efficiency while ensuring compatibility with international shipping standards.
PowerX also plans to integrate the Mega Power series with its Grid Connector for BESS solution, which includes power conditioners, transformers, and high-voltage distribution panels, offering a comprehensive package for large-scale installations. This approach aims to reduce construction costs and shorten deployment timelines. For cybersecurity, the company intends to comply with the JC-STAR security certification program for IoT products. Detailed product specifications and presentations are available on their dedicated website and YouTube channel. In the outlook, PowerX expects the launch to have a minor impact on its fiscal year ending December 2026 performance forecasts but will promptly disclose any significant effects.
