Okamoto Industries Appoints New Independent Committee Members
TOKYO, Jun 26 (Pulse News Wire) – Okamoto Industries,inc. (5122.T) announced changes to its independent committee members based on the updated large-scale share acquisition response strategy approved at its 129th ordinary general meeting held on June 26, 2025.
Two members, Kazuki Fukazawa and Shigeo Arai, completed their terms , upon conclusion of the 130th ordinary general meeting. At the same board meeting, two new members were appointed to the independent committee, bringing the total number of members to three. The newly appointed members are Takao Tokuhira and Michiyo Yamamiya. Takao Tokuhira, born on September 27, 1958, joined Price Waterhouse Coopers Japan in April 1981 and became a certified public accountant in May 1984. He served as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the United States from July 1997 until his appointment as an outside director and audit committee member at Okamoto Industries,inc. in June 2026.
Prior to this role, he was involved with several companies, including Tokyo Trade Holdings and JSR Corporation. Michiyo Yamamiya, born on July 26, 1969, was admitted to the First Tokyo Bar Association in April 1998 and began her career at Hasegawa Law Office. She later worked at the U.S. Department of Transportation and joined Tanabe Comprehensive Legal Office in July 2010, becoming a partner there in January 2011. Yamamiya currently serves as a commissioner for the Self-Defense Forces Ethics Review Board and as an outside director and audit committee member at Tsugami Corporation since June 2020. Her latest addition includes her role at Okamoto Industries,inc.
