Nippon Air Conditioning Services Discovers Employee Fraud Over 14 Years
TOKYO, Jul 31 (Pulse News Wire) – Nippon Air Conditioning Services CO.,LTD. (4658.NG) disclosed that fraudulent activities by employees spanning from 2013 to 2026 were uncovered involving tampered calibration certificates for measuring equipment used in air conditioning maintenance services.

The fraud involved altering issuance dates and management numbers on third-party calibration certificates and presenting falsified reports to clients. Affected measurement devices included insulation resistance testers, ammeters, thermometers, pressure gauges, and tension meters. The issue was discovered on June 23, 2026, when a client questioned inconsistencies in submitted documents.
In response, the company initiated internal investigations and corrective actions, including rechecks of affected facilities using properly certified equipment. It also plans to implement stricter monitoring procedures and enhance employee training programs to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, the firm conducted a comprehensive review of its internal calibration processes and found some discrepancies, which have since been corrected. The company stated that while the impact on consolidated earnings is currently considered minor, it will promptly disclose any significant developments.
