Nidec Faces Shareholder Lawsuit Over Accounting Irregularities
TOKYO, Aug 05 (Pulse News Wire) – NIDEC CORPORATION (6594.T) received a request from a shareholder to file a lawsuit against multiple current and former directors based on accounting irregularities, according to a statement released today. The shareholder, identified as an individual investor, submitted a formal request letter seeking legal action under Article 847, Paragraph 1 of the Companies Act.
In response, NIDEC stated that it had previously established an investigation committee on March 13, 2026, to examine potential breaches of duty among current and former directors, auditors, and executive officers related to ongoing accounting issues within the group. The committee is tasked with determining whether there was negligence in their duties and assessing any legal liabilities.
Based on the findings and recommendations of the investigation committee, NIDEC said it would decide whether to pursue compensation claims or take further legal actions. Any decisions made will be promptly disclosed to shareholders and the public.
