Nidec Reports Second Update on Cyber Attack Affecting Taiwan Subsidiary
TOKYO, Aug 04 (Pulse News Wire) – NIDEC CORPORATION (6594.T) released a second update regarding a cyber attack on its Taiwanese subsidiary, Nidec Chaun Choung Technology Corp. According to external forensic investigations, while there is no clear evidence of data leakage, parts of folder and file lists from the affected servers were published on dark web sites associated with the attackers.
Despite lacking definitive proof of data exfiltration, the possibility cannot be entirely ruled out based on the available information. In response to the incident, Nidec stated it would continue monitoring the situation closely.
Should any significant developments arise, the company pledged to disclose them promptly. As of now, the attack has not caused major disruptions to production or operations at the subsidiary.
However, Nidec anticipates only minor impacts on consolidated earnings, with assurances to inform stakeholders immediately should any substantial effects emerge.
