IPS Nippon Foundry Co. revises FY2026 forecast; net loss widens

– Nippon Foundry Co. (6439.NG) revised its fiscal year 2026 earnings forecast, reporting a wider lower net profit compared to previous estimates.

The company's latest figures show revenue of ¥1.144 billion, operating profit of ¥-53 million, ordinary profit of ¥-37 million, and a lower net profit per share of ¥204. In contrast, the earlier forecast released on February 12 predicted revenue of ¥1.26 billion, operating profit of ¥-50 million, ordinary profit of ¥-54 million, and a lower net profit per share of ¥150.

The revision reflects a decrease in extraordinary losses due to increased subsidy income and dividend receipts, but was offset by higher impairment and restructuring charges. Regarding the impairment losses, the company noted that production halts at its port factory and the cessation of new materials development plans at its logistics center led to some assets being idle, resulting in total fixed asset impairment losses of ¥1.16 billion.
