Ikuyo Acquires EV Bus Business Unit from EV Motors Japan

– Ikuyo CO.,LTD. (7273.T) announced today that its board of directors approved the acquisition of the EV bus business unit from EV Motors Japan.

The deal aims to accelerate the development of high-value autonomous driving platforms and expand energy management services. According to the company, the acquired assets include land, buildings, machinery, and equipment related to the EV bus business. The transaction also involves taking over product warranties for previously sold EV buses. Financially, the EV bus business reported revenues of ¥2.714 billion, lower operating profit of ¥137 million, and ordinary loss of ¥417 million in the fiscal year ended December 2025.

As of now, the exact purchase price remains undisclosed pending court approval during the civil rehabilitation process. The target company, EV Motors Japan, was established on January 26, 1984, with a capital of ¥4.118 billion. It primarily engages in the sale and maintenance of electric vehicles and charging facilities. The acquisition is expected to close on August 10, 2026, with the transfer scheduled around November 2026.

Further details on the impact on IKUYO's consolidated performance for the fiscal year ending March 2027 will be disclosed once formal court permission is obtained.
