Hi-Lex to Reorganize Domestic Production to Enhance Efficiency and Flexibility

TOKYO, Jul 10 (Pulse News Wire) – HI-LEX Corporation (7279.T) announced plans to restructure its domestic production facilities to improve efficiency and flexibility in response to changing market demands and future growth opportunities. Currently operating 13 domestic production sites, HI-LEX aims to address declining productivity due to evolving demand structures and labor shortages.

The restructuring will focus on two key areas: product-specific layouts and function-based layouts. Product-specific layouts will consolidate similar equipment and functions based on product types, such as cables and wind regulators, while function-based layouts will separate and concentrate pre-production and assembly processes to enhance specialization and optimize overall operations. Additionally, the company will reallocate resources created through this process to support flexible and efficient production systems.

HI-LEX expects to complete the restructuring by 2028, beginning implementation in fiscal year 2027. Detailed discussions are ongoing to finalize the specifics of the plan. The company stated that it would disclose any significant impacts on consolidated earnings once evaluated.
