Solasia Pharma Completes Third Dosage Level Evaluation for SP-05 Clinical Trial

TOKYO, Jul 09 (Pulse News Wire) – Solasia Pharma K.K. (4597.T) announced that its development candidate SP-05 (alorixin sulfate) completed evaluation of the third dosage level in its Phase I/Ib clinical trial.

The safety assessment committee approved the initiation of the final cohort at the next dosage level of 500 mg/m² based on positive results from previous cohorts. The trial, led by Isofol Medical AB, aims to enhance existing cancer treatments and address gaps in colorectal cancer therapy. Isofol CEO Petter Segelman Lindqvist highlighted the significance of reaching the final dosage cohort, noting consistent favorable safety profiles across three evaluated levels.

The ongoing study consists of two parts, with the first part evaluating alorixin's dose escalation in metastatic colorectal cancer patients. Successful completion of the 300 mg/m² dosage level without dose-limiting toxicity paves the way for the upcoming 500 mg/m² dosage phase. Isofol plans to initiate the Phase II portion of the trial later in 2026.

According to WHO data, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer globally and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths, underscoring the need for innovative treatment options.
