GMO Internet Group establishes AI Promotion Headquarters and appoints executive

TOKYO, Jul 14 (Pulse News Wire) – GMO Internet Group,inc. (9449.T) established the "Group AI Promotion Headquarters" and appointed Yoshihiro Yamashita, Deputy President Executive Director, as its head during a board meeting held .

The move aims to accelerate AI transformation across the group by centralizing resources and intensifying efforts to implement business AI agents. In related personnel changes, Yamashita was also named the Group's AI Transformation Officer, responsible for executing the strategic initiatives under Chief AI Transformation Officer Masatoshi Kumagai.

Additionally, he retained his positions as Deputy President Executive Director of GMO Internet Group and GMO-Z.com Trust Co., Ltd. This restructuring follows the recent appointment of Kumagai as the Group’s Chief AI Transformation Officer, which was disclosed on July 13, 2026.

The newly formed headquarters will play a pivotal role in driving AI adoption and governance within the organization.
