GMO Internet Group appoints Chief AI Transformation Officer

TOKYO, Jul 13 (Pulse News Wire) – GMO Internet Group,inc. (9449.T) announced, during a board meeting, the appointment of Masatomo Kumagaya as the Chief AI Transformation Officer (Group CAIO).

This role will oversee the company's unified strategy for AI implementation, governance, talent development, and operational transformation. Kumagaya, currently serving as the President and CEO, will now also hold the position of Group CAIO effective July 13, 2026.

The move comes amid rapid advancements in generative AI technology, which the company aims to leverage to enhance productivity across its partner network and accelerate value creation. In his new capacity, Kumagaya will lead efforts to strengthen the company’s AI strategies and governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with the broader goal of becoming a leading enterprise group driven by AI and robotics.
