Casio Computer Settles Group Litigation Over Price Fixing Claims
TOKYO, Jul 16 (Pulse News Wire) – Casio Computer CO.,LTD. (6952.T) announced the conclusion of a group litigation case involving price fixing allegations against its subsidiary, Casio Electronics Co.
Ltd. The lawsuit was initiated on August 29, 2023, claiming that Casio UK engaged in resale price maintenance behavior during the sale of musical instruments in the UK from February 2013 to April 2018, leading consumers to purchase products at inflated prices.
The plaintiffs, represented by Elisabetta Sciallis of consumer organization Which?, withdrew their claims, resulting in the dismissal of the case effective July 13, 2026. Only Casio UK received the complaint and was involved in the legal proceedings, while the parent company did not face direct involvement.
Regarding future implications, the company stated that the resolution of this litigation would have a minor impact on its current fiscal performance.
