Bookoff Group Holdings Reports July Sales Growth, Plans New Store Opening

TOKYO, Aug 06 (Pulse News Wire) – Bookoff Group Holdings Limited (9278.T) reported a month-over-month sales increase of 110.2% percent for existing stores in July, compared to the same period last year, with overall store sales rising by 111.8% percent. The growth was driven by higher sales across categories such as trading cards, hobbies, software media, books, and electronics.

For the month of July, existing store sales stood at 110.2% and total store sales reached 111.8%. The number of weekends and holidays remained unchanged compared to the previous year. Year-to-date, existing store sales showed a positive trend, increasing from 100.1% in June to 102.6% in July. Additionally, the company announced plans to open a new bookstore, BOOKOFF Ion Suitaten in Osaka Prefecture’s Suita City, on July 27, 2026.

In terms of store count, domestic operations saw a slight decrease, with 369 franchised stores and 356 affiliate stores remaining stable. Premium service outlets also maintained their count at 55, while overseas franchise operations stayed consistent at 12. Total store numbers decreased slightly from 839 to 838. The company noted that these figures are preliminary and subject to revision in future updates.
