Appbank to Transfer Video Service Business to PostPrime for Special Gain

– AppBank Inc. (6177.T) announced on July 27 that its board of directors approved the transfer of part of its online video service business to PostPrime Co., effective August 1, 2026.

The transaction will result in a special gain of ¥4.5 million being recorded in the company's fiscal year ending December 2026. The move follows a strategic review aimed at focusing resources on more profitable ventures such as AI and IP&Commerce businesses. In 2025, the company transferred the IP&Commerce division led by founder Tomonori Murai, who left AppBank in March 2025. Since then, the video service was managed by Murai until now. However, due to the high dependency on individual management and limited growth potential within the company, AppBank decided to divest the service to enhance overall corporate value.

Key figures related to the video service show revenue of ¥12 million and operating profit of ¥3 million for the fiscal year ended December 2025. The deal is valued at ¥4.5 million and will be settled in cash. PostPrime, founded in September 2020, operates in the same sector and has a capital of ¥49 million. As of June 17, 2026, Shibridge General Partnership holds 33.42% percent of PostPrime’s shares. Looking ahead, AppBank plans to maintain timely quarterly disclosures of financial results and business updates while continuing to withhold forward-looking statements until a reasonable forecast becomes available.
