Pulse News Wire produces English-language reports from Japanese corporate disclosures filed through TDNet, the Tokyo Stock Exchange's official disclosure system operated by Japan Exchange Group (JPX). Disclosures are translated from Japanese to English using a hybrid architecture: deterministic numerical extraction and masking, followed by machine translation, with quality gates applied before publication. This policy explains where our data comes from, how it is processed, and what quality controls are in place.
Primary source. All reports derive from TDNet, the authoritative channel for corporate filings by companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, including quarterly and annual earnings, dividend and capital-allocation announcements, and material-event disclosures.
Coverage. Coverage began March 8, 2026. All statements about historical coverage refer only to disclosures published from that date forward. We cover all Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed companies where TDNet filings are available for translation. We do not claim complete coverage of every listed company or every disclosure: a disclosure is published only after it clears our processing pipeline and quality gates.
Publication lag. We do not offer real-time reporting. Disclosures typically appear in English one to two business days after JPX publication, reflecting the time required for translation, quality review, and publication.
Language and format. Our deliverable is the English-language report. We do not republish the original Japanese PDF; we cite it as the source. Readers who need the original Japanese can access TDNet directly through the Japan Exchange Group website.
Update frequency. Reports are published on a trading-day basis and pause during Japanese market holidays and closures.
Large language models are strong at translating language but unreliable at reproducing exact numbers. A model asked to translate text containing financial figures can transpose digits, misplace a decimal, or substitute a plausible-looking value. For a financial data product, that failure mode is unacceptable.
Pulse News Wire separates numerical handling from language translation so the translation model never has the opportunity to alter a figure:
Deterministic extraction. Numerical values are extracted from the source document using rule-based pattern matching and coordinate-based table detection. No language model is involved in this step.
Masking. Each extracted figure is replaced with a placeholder token before translation. The translation model sees only masked text and surrounding context, never the original numbers.
Translation. The masked Japanese text is translated to English by a machine-translation model. Its task is restricted to language; because the figures are masked, it cannot change them.
Re-injection. After translation, placeholders are replaced with the original extracted figures. This step is deterministic.
Quality gates. Before publication, automated checks test numerical and directional consistency. Articles that fail a gate, or whose source extraction is low-confidence, are held back for review rather than published.
This design is intended to prevent the translation model from introducing numerical errors. It does not eliminate every source of error: extraction itself can fail on poor scans, handwritten amendments, or unusual layouts, which is why low-confidence articles are deferred rather than published.
We do not publish an accuracy rate. Validation of the corpus is ongoing, and we prefer to describe our controls rather than advertise a figure we cannot stand behind.

In scope. Listed-company filings made through TDNet: earnings, dividends and capital allocation, and material-event disclosures.
Out of scope. Unlisted companies and entities that do not file through TDNet. English-language output only; we do not publish Japanese-language versions. No real-time reporting. We do not forecast, estimate, or adjust figures, and we do not provide investment analysis. We publish the translated primary source; interpretation is the reader's.
