Yokorei Posts Expected Special Loss Due to Asset Impairment

TOKYO, Jul 23 (Pulse News Wire) – Yokorei CO.,LTD. (2874.T) reported that it expects to record a special loss due to asset impairment in its consolidated third-quarter results ending September 2026.

The decision was made during a board meeting held. The special loss stems from a reassessment of the profitability of a seafood export facility constructed in July 2021 in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture.

Due to declining fish catches caused by recent climate changes, the facility's performance fell below initial projections. As a result, the company anticipates recognizing approximately ¥2.200 billion as a special loss.

Regarding the impact on the fiscal year ending September 2026, Yokorei stated that it is currently evaluating the situation and will promptly revise its earnings forecast if necessary based on future developments and other factors.
