Tokai Carbon REPORTS LIMITED DAMAGE FROM KYUSHU EARTHQUAKE

– Tokai Carbon CO.,LTD. (5301.T) reported limited damage from the July 28 Kyushu earthquake affecting its Tonoura Plant in Kumamoto Prefecture.

As of July 29, there were no major injuries or fatalities among employees. Operations at the plant, which produces graphite materials for semiconductors and solar cells, were temporarily halted but power supply remains uninterrupted. The Tonoura Plant, a key facility for the company's Fine Carbon Business, experienced partial shutdown of operational equipment during the quake.
