THE Shimane BANK Shimane Bank Reports First Quarter Loss on Securities Holdings
TOKYO, Jul 29 (Pulse News Wire) – THE Shimane Bank,ltd. (7150.T) reported a securities holding unrealized loss totaling ¥502 million for the first quarter ending June 30, 2026.
This figure represents a significant decrease compared to the previous fiscal year's linked ordinary profit of ¥417 million. As a result, the ratio of the unrealized loss to the ordinary profit stands at 120.3%. Additionally, the parent company shareholders' net income for the same period was ¥370 million, leading to an unrealized-to-net-income ratio of 135.5%.
The bank noted that despite the unrealized losses, there would be no impact on the projected earnings for the fiscal year ending March 2027. However, the bank emphasized that future performance could vary due to unforeseen factors. In detail, the fair value of the securities holdings stood at ¥4.186 billion, while their book value was ¥4.689 billion.
The total marked-to-market loss exceeded the gain, resulting in a lower net profit of -¥502 million for the quarter.
