T&D Holdings Reports First Quarter Loss on Securities Portfolio

– T&D Holdings, Inc. (8795.T) reported a securities portfolio loss of ¥1.88 trillion at the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2027.

The total amount represents a decline compared to the previous fiscal year's consolidated ordinary profit of ¥257.2 billion. As a percentage of the parent company’s net income for the same period last year, which was ¥139.0 billion, the loss equates to 1354.0%. The company noted that the securities held for maturity purposes and liability reserve bonds, totaling ¥6.88 trillion in book value, had a market value of ¥5.00 trillion.

Despite this, T&D Holdings maintains that these assets balance out the economic value reduction of corresponding insurance liabilities due to rising interest rates, thus having no direct impact on the firm’s financial health. Regarding the full-year forecast for fiscal 2027, the company stated there would be no changes to the previously announced earnings outlook and dividend expectations released on May 15, 2026. Any future adjustments will be disclosed promptly.
