TOKYO, Jul 08 (Pulse News Wire) – Tamagawa Holdings CO.,LTD. (6838.T) completed the grid connection of a battery storage facility located in Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture, ahead of schedule on July 01, 2026.
The system was initially planned for completion within July but was finished earlier. With an installed capacity of approximately 2 MW and energy storage capacity of around 8 MW, the facility is now ready for final inspections prior to expected delivery in mid-August 2026. Following delivery, the company will proceed with necessary procedures and reviews for participation in supply-demand adjustment markets, aiming for early operation. The acquisition of the battery storage facility was announced on May 25, 2026, with a purchase price of approximately ¥684 million.
The company's group has previously developed renewable energy power plants comprising 408 units totaling 61321.2 kW, with 109 units currently operational at 5,871 kW. Recognizing the importance of stable electricity supply through battery storage systems, the company secured land and rights for development based on construction orders. Looking forward, the project aligns with national plans to increase renewable energy production to meet growing demand, addressing challenges such as inconsistent generation due to weather conditions. International Energy Agency projections indicate a need for significant expansion in short-term energy storage solutions globally, with battery storage facilities expected to play a crucial role.
