Sun* Delays IFRS Adoption Until End of 2026 Fiscal Year
TOKYO, May 15 (Pulse News Wire) – Sun* INC. (4053.T) announced today that its board of directors has decided to delay the voluntary adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Originally planned for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2026, the decision was made due to the need for more cautious review of accounting treatments and disclosure information during periods of significant changes in accounting standards. Under the revised schedule, the company will continue to follow Japanese accounting standards for its interim reports and quarterly earnings releases throughout the fiscal year ending December 2025.
The transition to IFRS will now take effect for the final reporting period of the fiscal year ending December 2026. CEO Taihei Kobayashi stated that while the company remains committed to enhancing global comparability of financial data and improving stakeholder convenience, the priority is ensuring thorough preparation and robust internal controls.
