Sumitomo Osaka Cement to Sell Shares, Targeting Capital Efficiency Improvements
TOKYO, Jul 30 (Pulse News Wire) – Sumitomo Osaka Cement CO.,LTD. (5232.T) announced today that it has decided to sell part of its investment securities holdings through a resolution made at a board meeting held on July 30.
The sale is aimed at reviewing policy-held shares and improving capital efficiency, with the goal of reducing the ratio of policy-held shares to below 10% percent of consolidated net assets by March 31, 2029. The company plans to sell five listed securities during the period from August 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The anticipated proceeds from the sale are approximately ¥5.500 billion.

Regarding future outlook, the company stated that it is currently assessing the impact on earnings forecasts, taking into account various other factors.
