Sumitomo Chemical Company Reduces Capital Reserve Following Share Exchange
TOKYO, Aug 03 (Pulse News Wire) – Sumitomo Chemical Company,limited (4005.T) announced on August 03, 2026 that it had reduced its capital reserve amount due to a share exchange completed on August 01, 2026. The reduction was made simultaneously with the share exchange, which increased the capital reserve by ¥2.400 billion.
According to the company, the increase in the capital reserve was calculated based on the fair value of the shares issued as consideration for the exchange, resulting in an amount of ¥2.400 billion. This adjustment did not impact the company's performance.
Post-reduction, the capital reserve stands at the same level as immediately prior to the share exchange, which was ¥24.29 billion. Additionally, the entire increased portion of the capital reserve was transferred to other surplus reserves as part of the transaction.
The company stated that this action aligns with regulatory requirements and does not affect its operational or financial standing.
