Sumasapo Acquires Trade One Co., Expanding D2C Model

– Sumasapo Inc. (9342.T) announced on August 07 that it had decided to acquire all outstanding shares of Trade One Co., making it a subsidiary.

As part of this acquisition, Wakamatsu Co., a subsidiary of Trade One, will also become a Sumasapo subsidiary. Trade One's capital represents more than 10% of Sumasapo’s capital, qualifying it as a significant subsidiary. Trade One, based in Ama City, Aichi Prefecture, specializes in planning, manufacturing, and selling daily necessities.

With a strong supply chain and diverse sales channels, Trade One complements Sumasapo’s digital services aimed at optimizing resident communication through the “totono” app. By integrating Trade One’s product development capabilities and procurement network, Sumasapo plans to expand its direct-to-consumer (D2C) model, enhancing customer value and convenience. Specifically, Sumasapo intends to leverage Trade One’s expertise to offer tailored products and personalized recommendations via the “totono” app, aiming to improve residents' living experiences post-move-in.

Additionally, Sumasapo expects synergies from shared data and resources to strengthen revenue bases and drive sustainable growth.
