– StemRIM Inc. (4599.T) announced that a patent covering the use of its regenerative medicine product Redasemtid (HMGB1 fragment peptide) for treating myocardial disorders, old myocardial infarction, and chronic heart failure caused by these conditions was registered in Canada.

The patent application number is 3,051,825, and the registration number remains undetermined. Developed from technology licensed to Shionogi & Co., Ltd., this patent expands the potential therapeutic applications of Redasemtid in North America. Redasemtid's existing patents in the United States and Mexico cover similar indications, ensuring broader development opportunities across the region.

The global market for treatments targeting myocardial diseases is projected to reach $1.900 billion yen in 2023 and grow to $3 billion yen by 2031. StemRIM commenced Phase II physician-led trials for ischemic cardiomyopathy at Osaka University Hospital in March 2024, aiming to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Redasemtid. There will be no impact on fiscal year 2026 earnings due to this patent registration, but StemRIM will promptly disclose any significant developments related to this matter.
