Stemcell Institute to Raise Additional Capital for Southeast Asia Cell Bank Expansion

TOKYO, Jun 24 (Pulse News Wire) – StemCell Institute (7096.T) announced today that it has decided to raise additional capital through a joint investment with BIG RAINBOW INVESTMENT PTE. LTD.

For its subsidiary, STEMCELL INNOVATIONS PTE. LTD., based in Singapore. The move aims to enhance safety and reliability by investing in advanced storage and management systems, support personnel recruitment and training, and secure funds necessary for initial operations. The planned expansion includes accelerating the deployment of cell bank services in Southeast Asia, leveraging the completion of a cell storage facility in May 2026. The company is actively recruiting staff across various fields such as sales, cell processing, and quality control to meet growing demand in the region. With this funding, StemCell Institute expects to fully cover the costs associated with its current plans and early-stage operations. Under the agreement, StemCell Institute will contribute SGD 7,000,000 (approximately ¥5,000,000,000) while BIG RAINBOW INVESTMENT PTE. LTD.

Will invest SGD 3,000,000 (approximately ¥2,000,000,000). The total post-investment capital will amount to SGD 10,000,000 (approximately ¥7,000,000,000). The capital payment is scheduled for June 25, 2026. The subsidiary, established on November 19, 2024, operates a cell bank business in Southeast Asia. As of December 31, 2025, its net assets stood at SGD 5,000,000 (approximately ¥3,500,000,000), and total assets amounted to SGD 7,000,000 (approximately ¥4,900,000,000) as of December 31, 2025. Ownership ratios remain unchanged at 70% for StemCell Institute and 30% for BIG RAINBOW INVESTMENT PTE. LTD. Looking ahead, StemCell Institute anticipates minimal impact on its fiscal 2027 performance due to this capital increase.
