Shinkin Central Bank Plans Share Buyback and Cancellation

– Shinkin Central Bank (8421.T) resolved on May 20 to propose to its shareholders at the upcoming 89th ordinary general meeting scheduled for June 24 the acquisition and subsequent cancellation of preferred shares using surplus funds. The bank aims to enhance capital efficiency and improve returns to preferred shareholders.

Under the resolution, up to 10,000 shares of A-type preferred stock (representing 1.4% of the total outstanding shares) could be acquired at a total value of up to ¥1 billion. The buyback period runs from May 20, 2026 to July 30, 2026. Acquisitions will occur through market purchases based on a self-preferred share purchase mandate agreement.
