Sanyo Electric Railway Posts Strong Revenue Growth in FY2025; Sees Stable Profits in FY2026

– Sanyo Electric Railway CO.,LTD. (9052.T) reported robust revenue growth of ¥16 billion for the fiscal year ended March 2026, marking a 6.3% increase compared to the previous year.

Operating profit rose by ¥4 billion, driven primarily by fare adjustments across its railway, bus, and taxi operations, along with increased passenger traffic due to events such as the Osaka Expo and improved connectivity at Beppu Station. In contrast, the company anticipates stable operating profits of approximately ¥4.478 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2027, despite projecting a slight decline in transportation sector earnings due to rising personnel costs. However, strong performance in real estate sales is expected to offset these challenges, contributing to overall profitability.

For the transport division, Sanyo Electric Railway forecasts a modest revenue increase of ¥3.605 billion, while expecting a reduction in operating income due to higher expenses. In retail, the firm projects a ¥541 million rise in operating income, largely attributed to enhanced performance in department store operations. Real estate activities are set to drive significant gains, with anticipated revenues of ¥3.605 billion and operating income of ¥541 million more than the prior year, thanks to strategic property transactions.

Looking ahead, the company plans substantial investments totaling ¥10.5 billion in various sectors, focusing particularly on infrastructure upgrades and service improvements aimed at enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.
