Santen Pharmaceutical Reports Q1 Revenue Growth Amid New Product Launches
TOKYO, Aug 06 (Pulse News Wire) – Santen Pharmaceutical CO.,LTD. (4536.T) reported revenue growth for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, driven by new product launches and expansion of existing products.
Revenue reached ¥69.0 billion, up 0.3% from the same period last year. Core operating profit increased by 9.3%, while net income rose by 22.2%. In Japan, sales of newly launched products such as RejuSea Mini Eye Drops and Aupnice Mini Eye Drops contributed positively, but some key products faced challenges due to market adjustments and competition from generics. In China, strong performance of flagship products like Clavib led to a 15.8% increase in revenues.
Sales in Asia excluding China also saw robust growth, primarily due to glaucoma and dry eye treatments, resulting in a 12.5% rise. Looking ahead, the company expects continued growth across regions, maintaining its forecast made on May 12, 2026. Research and development expenses remained stable, with ongoing projects targeting various stages of clinical trials globally. Santen's capital structure showed a slight improvement, with total assets standing at ¥1152.88 billion, reflecting strategic investments in production capacity and operational efficiency measures.
