Sangetsu Reports First Quarter Revenue Increase Amid Segmental Performance Variability
TOKYO, Aug 06 (Pulse News Wire) – Sangetsu Corporation (8130.NG) reported a revenue increase of ¥53.94 billion for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, compared to ¥49.39 billion in the same period last year. Operating profit reached ¥5.327 billion, up from 5.7%.
Net income attributable to parent shareholders was ¥4.756 billion, marking a significant improvement from 7.7% million yen previously. In the domestic interior segment, sales grew to ¥43.94 billion, reflecting increases across various product units such as wall coverings, flooring materials, fabrics, and design fees. However, the domestic exterior segment saw a decline in sales to ¥1.633 billion due to reduced demand in the housing market and price adjustments by major manufacturers affecting customer behavior. Internationally, Sangetsu's overseas operations showed mixed results. North American markets continued strong growth, while Southeast Asian regions improved despite geopolitical concerns.
China and Hong Kong faced challenging conditions but managed to reduce losses through strategic cost management and organizational restructuring. Sangetsu emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance supply chain management and operational efficiency, aiming to achieve sustainable growth in both domestic and international segments. The company also highlighted the successful launch of a new factory in Hiroshima by subsidiary Create Co., contributing positively to production stability and overall performance. For the fiscal year ending March 2027, Sangetsu projects total revenues of ¥213.0 billion, expecting further improvements in operating and ordinary profits. The company remains committed to optimizing its value chains and enhancing productivity through data-driven strategies and technological investments.
