Raqualia Pharma Secures US Patent Approval for IRAK-M Compound

TOKYO, Jul 30 (Pulse News Wire) – RaQualia Pharma Inc. (4579.T) announced that its subsidiary Fimecs received notification of patent approval in the United States for a series of compounds designed to induce the degradation of IRAK-M protein, a key regulator of natural immune signals linked to cancer immunosuppression.

The approved substances include FIM-001, which is currently undergoing preclinical development. This patent strengthens intellectual property rights for FIM-001 and related compounds in the US, enhancing protection alongside existing approvals in Japan and Europe. The IRAK-M protein degrading agents developed by Fimecs selectively bind to IRAK-M proteins, thereby activating cancer immunity responses.

Preclinical studies have shown significant anti-tumor effects across various animal models, including those resistant to conventional immunotherapy approaches. These compounds were generated through Fimecs' proprietary drug discovery platform, RaPPIDSTM, which focuses on targeting previously undruggable oncology-related proteins. This patent approval does not impact RaQualia's consolidated performance for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2026.
