Rakuten Bank Grants Stock Options to Employees
TOKYO, Jul 27 (Pulse News Wire) – Rakuten Bank,ltd. (5838.T) resolved to issue stock options, in the form of subscription rights, to 369 employees based on resolutions made during a board meeting held on July 27.
Each employee will receive up to 383 subscription rights, which will vest gradually over four years, allowing full exercise beginning five years after issuance. The bank believes this initiative will align employee interests with shareholder gains and losses, thereby boosting performance and share price appreciation.
Subscription rights will be exercisable at a price of July 27, 2026, with no monetary payment required upon exchange. Rights granted as part of fair compensation for duties will not qualify as advantageous conditions.
Exercise periods and conditions are detailed, including phased vesting schedules and restrictions on transferability and inheritance without special approval from the board.
