TOKYO, Feb 13 (Pulse News Wire) -- PRONI Inc., formerly known as Unilabo Co., Ltd., has outlined its vision and business strategy aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Japan and contributing to the country's economic recovery. The company, headquartered in Tokyo's Shinagawa district, operates a business-to-business (BtoB) matching platform called "PRONI Aimitsu," which aims to address key operational challenges faced by SMEs such as talent shortages, insufficient sales capabilities, and low productivity.
Founded on October 1, 2012, PRONI is led by CEO Daiki Shibata and currently employs 190 staff members, including 156 regular employees. As of December 31, 2025, the firm reported significant progress, achieving a revenue of ¥3,233 million and an operating profit of ¥47.1 million for the fiscal year ending December 2025. This represents a year-over-year growth rate of 14.5% in revenue and 13.0% in operating profit compared to the previous fiscal year.
The company’s core business model revolves around providing a matchmaking platform that connects businesses looking to outsource services with those seeking new clients. By facilitating these connections, PRONI seeks to drive digital transformation (DX) among SMEs, helping them overcome common hurdles such as labor shortages and inadequate marketing reach. For instance, during the fiscal year ended December 2025, PRONI facilitated over 165,658 successful matches between companies, marking a steady increase from the prior years.
According to PRONI, the current state of DX adoption among SMEs remains relatively low despite widespread recognition of its importance. Only about 19% of SMEs have actively embarked on DX initiatives, while nearly 81% acknowledge the necessity of digitalization. PRONI identifies this gap as a critical opportunity area where it can play a pivotal role in accelerating DX adoption through its platform, thereby fostering sustainable growth within the SME sector.
