PORT System Operator Battery Storage Business Shows Strong Revenue Growth

– PORT INC. (7047.F) reported significant progress in its system operator battery storage business, which began operations in three locations in Gunma Prefecture, Tokyo Electric Power Area, since the previous fiscal quarter.

Two out of the three sites contributed positively to revenue in the first quarter of the current fiscal period, while all three are expected to contribute substantially from the second quarter onwards. Specifically, the market operational revenues from these facilities are projected to grow approximately 225 times compared to the same month last year by June 2027, surpassing initial expectations. While detailed figures remain undisclosed due to competitive reasons, the company plans to disclose more comprehensive performance data related to its energy sector support services, including grid-connected battery storage operations and power connection arrangements, moving forward. In addition, the company decided to fully enter the system operator battery storage business as of April 17, 2026, based on positive preliminary results.

It now aims to develop up to ten such facilities by March 2027, having already secured investments for four to six additional sites during the April-June period. Despite potential short-term losses from newly developed facilities, PORT INC. anticipates overall profitability for the fiscal year ending March 2027. The company also noted that it had incorporated the anticipated contributions from the system operator battery storage business into its previously disclosed earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, published on May 15, 2026.

Any further developments will be promptly communicated.
