Olympus Appoints Brian Barry as Chief Quality Officer Effective Aug 2026
TOKYO, Jul 17 (Pulse News Wire) – Olympus Corporation (7733.T) announced today that its board of directors has decided to appoint Brian Barry as Chief Quality Officer (CQO) effective August 1, 2026. Brian Barry will take over the position previously held by Boris Schkolnick.
Barry brings over 40 years of leadership experience in global quality, regulatory affairs, medical safety, and clinical fields. He played a key role in advancing complex regulatory issues and enhancing quality systems during his tenure at Medtronic plc.
Schkolnick, who has been instrumental in strengthening Olympus's quality and regulatory compliance framework, will step down from his role as Chief Quality Officer. His contributions included leading global quality functions and systems, improving audit readiness, and fostering a culture of patient safety and quality.
The changes aim to support strategic growth investments and maintain constructive engagement with regulatory authorities such as the FDA, ensuring sustainable and fully compliant operations.
