Oizumi Corp to Launch Hotel Business via Subsidiary in August

– Oizumi Corporation (6428.T) announced that its subsidiary, Kanagawa Electric Power Co., Ltd., will commence a hotel business aimed at attracting tourists to scenic locations. The decision was made during a board meeting held on July 21, 2026.

Kanagawa Electric Power plans to diversify its revenue streams and enhance long-term profitability amid challenges such as declining feed-in tariffs and reduced investment returns in solar power generation. The new venture includes acquiring two hotels located in Shizuoka Prefecture. One hotel, named "Nyumonoya," will feature 14 rooms and cover an area of 1,492 square meters, while another, "Nyumonoya Ryorei," will offer six rooms across 2,745 square meters. Total costs for acquisition and renovation are estimated at approximately ¥1.1 million.

Scheduled to begin operations on August 1, 2026, the initiative marks a strategic shift towards tourism-related services. The company expects to provide high-quality accommodations in serene environments, catering to limited guests seeking privacy and personalized service. In a statement, Oizumi emphasized the importance of adapting to changing economic conditions and highlighted the potential benefits of expanding into hospitality. Further updates on the impact on fiscal 2027 performance will be disclosed as necessary.
