Nihon Seiko Reports First Quarter Loss Amid Revenue Decline
TOKYO, Aug 06 (Pulse News Wire) – Nihon Seiko Co.,ltd (5729.T) reported a decline in revenue and profits for the first quarter of fiscal 2026. Consolidated revenue was ¥9.393 billion, marking a 13.0% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Operating profit stood at ¥538 million, down 81.3% from the previous year, while net profit was ¥357 million, a reduction of 81.8%. The company's performance against its annual forecast showed progress rates of 27.3% for sales, 31.5% for operating profit, and 31.9% for net profit. Segment-wise, antimony operations saw a significant drop in revenue due to a decline in precious metal prices despite increased production volumes.
Conversely, the metal powder division experienced substantial growth driven by higher sales volumes and rising raw material costs. In the balance sheet, total assets decreased by -¥1.013 billion from March 2026 to June 2026, primarily attributed to changes in inventory levels and accounts receivable. Cash flow from operations declined by ¥5.2 million, largely influenced by reduced working capital and increased tax payments.
